If you’re worried about a new dog outliving you then go to the shelter and adopt an older dog; they have plenty, as it’s always the puppies that go first. You and the old dog will both be happy for the rest of your lives.
Retired Dude is right. The old dogs will apprecite a secnd chance. Amd so will you.
We took in a 15 year old for hospice. He died in June at the age of 20. Sweetest dog ever. Take in a senior!
