Am I missing the joke again? Or isn’t there one?

If this is Guido’s dog, Guido should be sleeping with it.

It is just a continuing story like a soap opera. Someday the dog will go to obedience school but will flunk. Then Guido will get hit by an ice cream truck, and Slim will be stuck with the dog for another ten to fifteen years. At least that is the way I would write it.

From the Dick Tracy group, there was a crossover on 04 Oct 2011..Looking at that first week of October 2011, it appears that the GA dailies were quite interesting, and it was the Sundays that were, well, check out 02 Oct 2011. Quite the opposite now..Yup. 02 Oct. Clovia picking on Slim because he’s fat..josiewhales: I’m with you all the way! Almost any character in GA is more interesting than Clovia and company!

Perhaps it is time that Gasoline Alley undergoes urban development into a parking lot for Walmart. It has been ages since there has been a decent and coherent storyline.

Although this story arc of Gretchen/Guido/Dog imposing on Slim and Clovia is NOT my favorite GA story arc of all time…. I have to say that the particular comic TODAY of Slim with the Dog is quite cute and very funny!+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++I am still very distrustful of and find Gretchen rather disrespectful as well, and Guido seems too much a sinister character.

I read Gasoline Alley from 1978 to 1983, the years I lived near Eugene where the strip was run in the local newspaper, so I miss Gretchen’s childhood and teenage years. Was she as disrespectful to her father then as she is now, and did Slim spoil her?

If we want this, we can read Marmaduke. Where is this arc going, and can we get it over?
