Technology CAN do better with nuclear, and we do NOT need extensive new mining operations for uranium, but “market pressure” by the energy industry is far more powerful than considering safer, less costly, alternatives in development.
Wasn’t Greece pay-as-you go until recently, when convinced to buy more on credit? Did they not take to buying more than they can afford? Just like many new credit card holders?
Solar is here today, on roofs all over my neighborhood. The big Loblaws grocery store at Dupont and Christie just put solar panels all over its roof. Nobody I know is planning to install fusion generators anytime soon.
