reminds of when Bob Barker was retiring and was asked how he stayed so upbeat for all those years of The Price Is Right : “alcohol”

What is this gin of which she speaks?

That’s two cartoons strips in a row referring to gin, today. Lio and Stone Soup. Is it National Bathtub Gin day, or are both cartoonists working on their Junior Alcoholics Merit Badge at the same time?

LOL!!! Love this one! I wish it said wine instead of gin and I’d cut it out (ok, I’d print it out first) and post it, but some days something stronger is needed.
The comic also makes me a little sad bc I found out last night that my mom has had a stroke and is now in the hospital. A long, teary night, but at least she’s being well taken care of.

I always knew Edie and I had a lot in common. Gin has been my drink of choice for many years now and I prefer certain brands over others. I quit for 1 year as an experiment to lower my BP as that is the only thing wrong with my otherwise perfect health (I don’t want to use any meds, so I’m vegetarian just this year).
She has Arnold, too – and I have my old BF back in the Chicago area who has been my on and off lover for close to 30 years. I was married for 16, to a rather violent and abusive Cuban and met BF the year after divorce. We had 4 beautiful children, and the 3 boys are all over 50 now, daughter has another year before 50 and is now with 3rd husband. I hope she makes him happy; seems like great guy.
My guy and I had a great honeymoon on the month of her latest wedding and I decided I enjoyed it so much that I want to find a replacement for him here. sex every day would improve my BP. I love him too much to want him to leave the work that makes him happy and he still earns a good living in. I love my Phoenix weather and there must be a nice senior guy here in the valley built just like what I love.

Jan has given us snippets of Evie’s life, she is exactly 19 years older than Val (her first kid), she worked with rivets, she said she helped the women into the workforce (both would make her older than she should be). Jan drew a Sunday cartoon where Val was seeing all the bad in her house. Evie saw all the good that might just need some elbow grease and offered Val her glasses to see things her way. The way it was written, almost sounds like there were trials and tribulations in her life. She moved in with Val and the kids after Val’s husband passed, helping Val get out of her depression (with love and force). So while we don’t have a full background, sounds like she wouldn’t have much to regret.

Alcohol abstinence is best. You’ll save more money than you know, perhaps a life or 2 and possibly a marriage.

She should get with Lio’s cat today.

Sorry, I read your reply wrong. I thought you were saying we don’t know much about her life.
