I’m sorry, Evie, but throw on more clothes—long underwear if you have to—but when you are cold you can always put on more clothes, Val could be naked and still be hot. I cannot stand to be hot.

What I can’t believe is that Holly is actually sitting at a computer and doing something that resembles homework !

I cannot stand a hot house during winter time. Dress is layers.Nice to see Holly doing class work. I am student on-line and google and youtube my best friend for research subjects. I take my main subject in the spring. I am using husband’s income not student loans, if no job no paying student loan.

I have a neighbor that keeps her house around 80 to 85 in the summer and winter. Everytime I go visit I have to take a hand fan…..lol. Of course she is 84 and very frail so I guess she has thin blood

Our AC comes on at 74, so it’ll never get to 80.

We keep our house at 68 in the winter, going down to 60 at night. In the summer, AC usually at 76.

I’m up here in Wisconsin a lot helping with the grandkids; my husband stays in Florida most of the time. He likes to keep the house toasty warm in winter and freezing in the summer. He doesn’t see why he should wear a sweater in the winter.

I like a moderate temperature all year. If it’s hot outside and you’re wearing shorts and tank tops, why should it be freezing inside? Same for winter. I have the A/C and heat on just enough to make it comfortable. No more, no less.

Think of the energy bills. Long underwear, etc, are much cheaper…

At 75, my mom can look at you with a straight face, while wearing a blanket over a sweatshirt over a turtle-neck, and complain that it’s “freezing in here”. And no, it’s not because she’s old; she’s always been like that.

Dad, in contrast, refuses to wear clothes if it’s more than 65.

I’m somewhere in between: comfortable in shorts and a tee shirt at 50, but I can also comfortably wear long sleeves at 75. I’m not terribly fond of 80, though, and 90 is right out.
