Yep. Anyone know the actual provisions? Here are a few:1. ObamaCare prohibits insurance companies from dropping your coverage if you get sick or make an honest mistake on your application.2. It eliminates pre-existing conditions and gender discrimination.3. Lets young adults stay on their parent’s plans until 26.4. Creates State based Health Insurance Exchange Marketplaces where Americans can shop for Federally regulated and subsided insurance.5. Protects against unjustified rate hikes and give you more rights to appeal insurance company decisions and much, much more.
Points 1, 2, and 5 protect citizens from rapacious insurance companies and their near-monopoly status (most states have no more than one or two major plans available).Point 4 introduces competition — you’d think Republicans would like that — SINCE THEY CAME UP WITH IT.Point 3 helps cover one of the least-covered groups and also provides some financial support for the program, as young people have fewer medical needs, which is precisely why some of the jerks in the GOP are trying to persuade them to put their health at risk to suit THEIR political needs.Anyone mind telling me why any of these extremely mild reforms are objectionable? There’s no “socialized medicine” (as in the UK), it works entirely through the existing insurance industry and medical industries (which is actually the biggest criticism), and it protects individual Americans.
Okay, I Googled the polls on Obamacare. Turns out that 30% of Americans don’t know what the ACA is, so the cartoon is correct. 44% of Americans oppose defunding Obamacare, only 35% support defunding Obamacare. The polls don’t support your position, big guy. And once people have tried their Green Eggs and Ham, there will be no stealing away life from people who don’t want to die.
“Ask them if they like the new free healthcare.”You keep posting that, but where is it free.(There is the case where Sara Palin admitted her family would cross into Canada for free doctor care as they did not pay Canadian taxes. That would be an exception, not a rule.)
Yep, David, through all that blather you put up answer this:
If everyone who owns / drives a car is required to have auto insurance why do people who do have it have to buy uninsured motorist coverage?
Obama is an economic and business illiterate. He is the last person I’d go to or believe on anything in those fields. Just because he stated something at some speech doesn’t make it true.He told the American public they could keep their current coverage if they liked it. That was a lie. He said Americans could keep their current doctor, health provider, etc., and that was a lie.Basically, he lied his @$$ off to get Obamacare passed just as Pelosi and Reid did in Congress. The whole program is a mess and a lie.
Oh, one more thing David, you put in an awful lot of logical fallacies in your rebuttal. You loaded it with fallacies of composition in that you inferred and then made “fact” all sorts of things I never said, implied, or otherwise put in my original post. You build off those numerous false dilemmas and complex question fallacies that are then used to incorrectly attack my original statements.
And, through all that you still fail in proving that Obamacare will work.

If what Motive says is correct, then it just might be an improvement on the present health care system, who knows?

This cartoon was true right after the law was passed-and the people to the right were Congressmen!
