The best way to deal with a hostage situation is to pay whatever ransom is demanded. That way, the hostage takers will be satisfied and won’t take the same hostage again. At least, not until the debt ceiling comes up later.
You mean the guy who got a conservative health care plan passed despite his own party’s wailing that he was abandoning them by taking single payer off the table? If you don’t know that Obamacare is a conservative plan, cooked up by the Heritage Foundation, then you are more interested in taking partisan potshots than looking at the facts.
Also, Obama is not acting like a king, he’s acting like a president, following proper governmental procedure. It’s Boehner who’s acting like “the omnipotent” by telling everyone that democracy and governmental procedure (as outlined by the constitution) is irrelevant when it comes to his personal wishes. You’ve got it backwards, my friend.
How about so that the poor will have access to health care? But, you raise a great point. If Obama really cared about the poor he wouldn’t have implemented such a heartless conservative health care plan as Obamacare, which has its genesis in the Heritage Foundation. He would have instituted single payer. So, are you with me in demanding universal single payer health care from all politicians? I thought not. In case you haven’t noticed, Obama is actually a moderate Republican, all right wing name calling aside.
John Dressel: I too had the first thought you did, and found the ’toon over the top when that came to mind. Unfortunately, the TEA party, and their representatives in Congress, and some state governments, ARE representative of the terrorists with no regard for law (Congress Passed it, and the SCOTUS (conservative no less) said it was LAW!).
Claiming this was caused by any but the recalcitrant, and vile, “Tea partiers”, that even Speaker Boehner can’t control in his own “terrorist cell”, is beyond stupid, or the pale.
They are playing for mid-year elections, and hopefully, the people will wake up, and come the day after the elections, not one single member, or supporter, or cooperator with, the “TEA party”, will remain in any elected office in the land.
That is NOT to say we won’t have some viable and intelligent Republicans elected or re-elected, if they are willing to represent THE PEOPLE, and not the SCOTUS branded “persons” with only corporate, not corporeal, bodies.
Could the righties on here explain these things for me, so I can understand your position better? I’m posting this on a fifth thread because on the prior fourI got zero answers. I didn’t think they’d be that difficult to answer.
1. Why do you want insurance companies to be able to deny coverage for pre-existing conditions?
2. Why is it bad to require insurance companies to spend at least 80% of insurance premiums on actual health care, as opposed to executive salaries and bonuses?
3. Why is it bad for dependents to be able to stay on their parents’ policy until age 26, instead of making them get more expensive care at a younger age?
4. Why do you like lifetime insurance caps?
5. Why is it better to have millions of people uninsured who then use emergency rooms for routine care, costing far more?
Thanks in advance for explaining these things, so we can understand why you hate Obamacare so much.
