:… Hansel and Gretel. I found out this book was banned first by finding the site, American library association. The website had a list of books that have been banned, with a video and purposes for each book. This book is banned for these following reasons…,1. It offends witches, (it says this everywhere.)(I didn’t even know witches were real)2. It offend witches by making them seem like horrible, ugly, and are described as child eating creatures that are nothing else but evil.3. The kids (Gretel) brutally killed, pushed the witch in the oven and watched her burn away4. it is inappropriate for the book have the children stealing the belongings of the witch after they kill her. They steal the jewels and belongings of the witch to take back home to their dad so they could buy food."(From one of the articles on the Internet. We live in silly times.)
