Wait a minute! In one comic the dog is dreaming of his wolf ancestry and wanting to be a predator. In this one, he doesn’t want the deer to be eaten by the wolf. -It sounds like Adrian thinks all meat comes from the market and not from cows, deer, sheep, goats, etc.
and the wolf wanting to see her family one last time uses the rest of her energy to drag herself home. She collapse as her 5 puppies gather around her beg for something to eat. A tear falls as she realizes that her failure to capture the deer not only will cost her, her life, but also the life of her children. A few days later they all starve to death… Sad ending
Reminds me of what my older brother experienced when he first went to college (too long ago to mention). They’d always show Roadrunner cartoons in the student union — and the students (the boys especially) would always cheer for Wile E. Coyote. Even though they knew he’d never get the roadrunner, they’d always cheer for the coyote.
