I suspect that the “5-points” might be a reference to spurs except for the fact that most spurs have a lot more points than just five.

A real judge would recuse himself. Besides, kidnapping is a federal crime and wouldn’t be tried on a local level.

There was a SUPERMAN episode where the ‘town’ hijacked truckers for their loads. The judge, sheriff, mayor was the same person. Come to think of it, I LOVE LUCY did the same thing.
