I won’t be shopping anywhere on Thanksgiving OR Black Friday (probably my worst nightmare) but who are we to tell people they can’t earn extra money by working?
When I worked in retail I would volunteer for a double shift on Thanksgiving because they paid double time. Plus I would have an excuse not to be with my family.
If people will stay away from the stores on thanksgiving this nonsense would end. If you keep shopping on thanksgiving then it won’t be too long before your loved ones in retail will have to be “really excited” to get screwed out of their christmas as well.Retail companies pay people minimum wage to miss time with their families. Stay away from the stores on thanksgiving and e-mail the companies and let themknow why.

It is really up to John Q public. If they don’t show up, they won’t be open next year.

I do not shop on Thanksgiving. Just as I don’t use self checkout, cashiers desperatly need a job.

Two tiered Thanksgiving — two tiered everything is the Republican ideal.

No doubt Sorensen has it right, but on the bright side it’s a chance to get away from the nutty relatives.
