Did they travel back in time? Or do they live near a train museum?

They must be in Hooterville, or as Mrs Douglas called it, HootersField.

So when do we get to the part that Poncho wakes up in the shower and realises it was all a dream?

I know that U.S. railroads are antiquated, but…steam engines?

Are we STILL on this arc? I’d almost think this strip is being ghost written by Greg Evans.

This does not look good for the mailman. Not sure I want to see what happens next.

Awesome 5th panel StelBel – but how is it possible to not be a Johnny Cash fan?

Let’s hope the adventurous two don’t end up in a heap of trouble and find themselves singing the doggie version of ‘Folsom Prison Blues’

They do run steam locomotives on certain railroads. It is just enough to get enough steam to run the whistle – there is always a more modern locomotive pushing the train.http://www.grandcanyontourcompany.com/train.htm

By the way, where is the mailman? Laying in the snow somewhere by the tracks way back from where they ran. I don’t see them to worried about it.

Actually, I just saw a news story a few days ago about one of the giant steam engines being put back into service. How cool is that? About as cool (and unlikely) as Ponch turning into a hero dog. First he rescues Hudson from his obsession, and now it looks like he’s going to rescue a MAILMAN??!? Will wonders, like this winter, never end?

This is all an evil plot to derail Hillary from running 2016, the train represents the Biden Express and it’s steam powered cause you can’t see hot air unless it’s trapped by a balloon.
