Years ago, my company had to replace the ignition wires in their Chevy sedans. The local ground squirrels loved chewing on the insulation. They only chewed the OEM wires, the aftermarket wires were safe. We did a lot of Nuclear research so you can imagine the silly jokes.

Reminds me of the time I waxed our car with Meguiars cleaner wax. The next day the entire car was covered in ants. They loved the stuff!
