“Blue Suede Shoes” by Carl Perkins (1932-1998) in the middle panel in case anyone’s stumped. Anyway, Andy should stop being an alcoholic if it makes him 20 years older.

Those lyrics written down made me remember the very funny and talented Steve Allen on the Tonight Show doing a recurring bit where he would read song lyrics in a conversational tone. Freakin’ hilarious!

I just remembered that back in the 70s I had a pair of blue suede cowboy boots. Can’t remember what happened to them. A shame, really. Bet they’d get me on the Antique Road Show if I still had them.

    There’s nothing good about beer.

    But that’s my opinion.

@Gweedo MurrayGweedo – “Nobody calls meee duuuuude !!” – Murray said, about 13 hours agoMom was “preemie”.-Don’t have much in the way of ‘toof ’ to speak of, less than afficio, even. The paste is for cleaning and flavor. Scrubbing the tongue with the brush keeps the film off which contributes to bad breath. -Wiley use to share the space with another horse. Don’t know why it’s just him now. He wishes you were walking by his place too ! -I’ve been on a horse two or three times in my life. But they weren’t any I’ve ‘raised from a pup’ and bonded with so it feels like nothing more than using them like a car which is why I wont go to riding places just for the thrill of “riding the horsey” !-If Trigger starts at episode one of Blackadder and goes through the entire series he could be well and ready to ride by the time he gets to the end of it. -I’m surmising that Oscar is Pit. He has that squarish box head shape I take for the breed. He reminds me of Fritz, a Liver Dalmation I knew sometime ago; all excited and happy just to be. He was a lover and so is this guy. Puppy Dog gets all wiggly as I approach the fence and has a ball or her latest piece of chewing stick in her mug as I walk up. I think Oscar is at least 3x times that enthusiastic.-Do you wear a black veil to enhance the mystery ? __________________________________________________My Mum was premature too. She was meant to be born in August but came in July instead.-I looked up “Tom’s of Maine” toothpaste. Is this the one you are using? Link-I have a full set of teeth now. As I mentioned to Afficionado, I had 4 of my adult teeth taken out. I was left with a few gaps but they soon got covered up by my other teeth. -I love all horses. I find them to be loving animals just like dogs. -Do you want me to give Trigger’s ‘snoot’ a rub for you?-I loved reading about Fritz. I bet he was a cutie!-Hahahaha! The last part of your comment cracked me up. Should I change my GoComics username to “Mysterious Lady”? Actually that’s a good idea but I’m not going to. I’ve grown too fond of my “Number Three” name.-I saw your comments at Ballard Street yesterday. SusanSunshine obviously had a blast. Did you see my comment? Bet you were glad I didn’t enlarge my avatar after all. LOL.-Happy Thursday to you… Just one more day to go before it’s “Finally Friday”

“Blue Suede Shoes” is Number 11 in this video of 1950-1959 music:

@SandfanI think Steve Allen’s greatest accomplishment might be just how much he influenced David Letterman. (I remember an interview Steve Allen did: “To David’s great credit, he gives great credit.” To him, in other words.) Steve Allen also wrote a lot of books, including some about comedians that were very incisive in their analysis. Sadly, I’ve only seen scattered clips of some of his more outrageous stunts from his TV appearances. (Yes, and Dave “borrowed” more than a few: like the Alka-Seltzer suit from Steve’s tea bag suit.) I’d love to have them on video like I have a lot of other old-timers.

Beer, btw is what amateurs drink. Wine is what showoffs drink. Now, bourbon and blood is what detectives drink!

IT’s uncharacteristic for Eldo not to be here irritating us.

I may have gotten No.3 turned on to the music of my generation. I used to send her videos (a couple of years ago) of various old-time performers, including Sinatra, The Ink Spots, Nat King Cole and others.

To anybody that cares:Nat King Cole is always referred to by all three of his names

    Never “Nat Cole” etc.
