America. In Japan, you will see 6 year olds walking blocks to school, or riding the train to school by themselves. It is not uncommon.

Came in to my Jr. High one winter ess than a mile away, so I was expected to walk – to find homeroom underpopulated. The teacher said the missing must have gotten cold waiting for the bus.

I drive my girls to the bus stop and pick them up everyday. On the few times I can’t their older brother walks to meet them. You can never be too careful.
