I still use my solar clothes dryer on the white things and blue jeans…maybe I’m having a “senior moment” but before we had a clothes dryer, it didn’t seem that the colored clothes faded the way they do now…
A friend was rooming with the musician Kenny G in college. It was a hot day and he’d put his clothes in the dryer and left. They took his clothes out and threw them outside because he didn’t hang them on the clothesline and used the energy of the dryer unnecessarily.
You try drying your clothes outside here. Be it on those portable camper lines or stands. Some idiot will call the city to claim that you are living without utilities. Especially even more so if there is a child in the house.Some one did that to me. Husband ended up taking the city worker thru the house to prove we had utilities. We were also told that we could not dry our clothes outside anymore by the worker.

Just like TV antennae attached to chimneys, the neighborhood clothesline is a thing of the past.

I have mine on the line today. Nice breeze and quite warm. Sure beats using electricity, plus I get fresh air, sunshine and exercise.

I used to hang clothes on the line. The first sign of rain does produce amazing bursts of speed in getting the laundry in.
