My understanding was that Truman was against the two state solution enacted by the UN in ’47. He favored the idea that UN administer government in a united Palestine. This comes despite the fact that when the League of Nations charged Britain with administering government, both the Arabs and the Jews fought against it.

Almost right, but most of the Arabs currently claiming to be Palestinians came in during the last century. Palestine was just the insulting Roman name for Israel. Most of Palestine was given to the Arabs by the British. It is now called Jordan. There is an Arab Palestinian state. Why do they need another one? To kill Jews?

All we really need is a one state solution. The state of PEACE!

Yes, just in case you weren’t sure: the last paragraph of the above post is meant as satire.

History really doesn’t make any difference as long as they are dedicated to killing each other in the name of religion. It is very difficult to imagine a peaceful solution when one group is dedicated to wiping the other off the map.
