In the funny papaers this week there was a little kid saying to his parents “If a temporary cease fire doesn’t work, why don’t they try a permanent one.” Sounds good to me.
IIRR Britain had the mandate after the war and rather than shipping Jews there, were trying to stop them. The Jews in fact perpetrated terrorist attacks against the British in Palestine! They were already showing what they would be like.
The real problem there is that many of them believe that their god has promised them the land and that they can re-commit the genocide they think their ancestors got away with when they slaughtered the Canaanites! Not that any of that is likely to be true, but it’s all the excuse some of them need.

BTW: the toon missed the point that the only drug used in the Middle East is PCP, and the U.S. is a principle supplier.
