Seriously, I’m all for controlled burns to try to compensate for years of fire suppression, but many of these current fires are in areas that previously (in the “normal precipitation” years of the past) would not have been considered high-risk for fires..And many of the Republican “clear out the underbrush” proposals were thinly-masked giveaways to loggers, where “underbrush” included all of the commercially-valuable trees.
