My bet would be Ebola to win, Humanity to place and ISIS to be in last place.

Hey, if you’re going to go by body count, tobacco still has them both beat.

According to Laurie Garrett’s account, when the (later to be named) Ebola virus was first seen under the microscope, its shapes appeared as ???? ISIS might be represented as !!!! It’s the next big thing to come out of Asia, along with the Great Khan and his Mongols, the Black Death, and Oil.. All of those, together with the misery they caused, also transformed history – sometimes for the better. Death and Destruction led later to Life and Construction. It’s a strange type of Progress.. In my imagination, The Keeper of the Human Preserve, somewhere Out There, according to strict directives does not interfere but must often wonder how much longer this can go on. Should he start putting in resumes for other positions?

The official death toll for Ebola is likely much too low, but both of these diseases feed off of ignorance and religious righteousness. It’s amazing that Republicans are willing to do something about Ebola and ISIS, which have killed relatively few Americans, but block all attempts to do anything about climate change or the refusal of Republican state governments to extend Medicaid, both of which will kill countless Americans right here at home, and whose solution is simple and inexpensive.
