Caulfield: I told him if there are still bugs to gish, maybe it's still a little early to be starting the school year.
Frazz: How'd that fly?
As I recall Grace Hopper telling it, the first “bug” was a moth found gished in a relay of the Mark I computer at Harvard. Since The Mark I was a Navy project, naturally there was a log, so the moth was taped to a page. Supposedly that page is on display at a naval museum in Annapolis.

Gish is a new one for me too. I don’t get the onomatopoeia.

“gish”. Little-kid-speak for squish. Like “Basketti” for spagetti.

“Gish”? Frazz used to concern itself with proper use of language, remember?

I’m in South Florida. Bugs here 12 months of the year. But what the heck is “gish”? He’s a smart kid. He couldn’t be pronouncing “squish” wrong.

“Gish” is the prime pluperfect tense of “to goosh”, meaning sto squish into goo.

I’d respect Caldwell more if he didn’t act so callously towards other living creatures.
