Florida. You need a passport or certified birth certificate and proof of address. Two utility bills will do for the address proof. There may be other requirements I have forgotten.
This supposed to be a one time deal, but for someone who has had a drivers license at the same address for 25 years it seems a bit stupid.

If you live in Florida and have for 26 years, you’re probably 96 and should have a reflex test as well. Heh.

Texas law states that speed in excess of 30 mph in this scenario is “prima facie evidence” (i.e., evidence sufficient to sustain a judgment unless contradictory evidence is submitted) that the speed is not reasonable and prudent, and is therefore unlawful.I don’t know what state he is in, but I don’t think it’s Texas. It seems to be the state of confusion!

In many communities the “80th percentile rule” is applied. This is the speed at which 80% of traffic follows when conditions are good; i.e., not snowing, raining, etc. Unfortunately, politics and other selfish issues get in the way!.In Montana it was “reasonable and prudent”. It should be this everywhere…

I will soon have had a driver’s license for 42 years. The only time I have taken a written exam is when I moved to Idaho a few years ago. I had to take the written test and eye exam to get a DL there. When I moved back to Texas, just had to go get a new license. Same as when I moved to OK from IL 19 years ago.

Licensing was created to separate taxpayers from their monies, and to allow the government to keep tabs on the rabble. It’s not exactly as if the tests are keeping the lunatics off the roads.
