The Arctic Red Flat Bark beetle can survive temperatures as low as -238F because it can dehydrate its body tissue and produce its own anti-freeze. An octopus off the coast of California was observed to protect her eggs from predators for more than 4 years, never once moving and refusing all food! Wow, even crocodiles would have trouble living that long without food.Good on Brando. Of course, he may have been more of a capitalist than an actual inventor.When would the beetle be exposed to temperatures that low? Does it fly into space?

Normally 7 months, depending on water temperature and species of octopus.
