And why am I up at 3:43AM in the AM, you all ask? Because some idiot’s car alarm has been going off for periodically for the past hour. Is hubby bothered by it? No, he and cat are snuggled together in bed and snoring soundly. GRRR.

@Beviek, your weather is coming our way, should hit us later this afternoon and will continue until Wednesday or so. Subject, of course, to change without notice.

OK, so it’s not Moby Dick – but we gotta head back – we’re almost outta beer!

You know you’re in trouble when your catch is smaller than your bait…….Today’s was actually funny, easily the best of this arc. Nosher might have possibilities as a character. (Of course, Guitar Bob long since proved that he does NOT, nor does “trivia night” as a theme.) Just don’t let Big Betty get into the boat!

@beviekThe Royals on a roll! Could you post “Sit Down You’re Rocking the Boat” as a favor to a fellow Show Me Stater?

beviek GoComics PRO Member said, about 11 hours agoIn WWII stockings were in such short supply that desperate measures were taken and the seam was simply drawn on the back of the leg to simulate stockings.-—————All the Nylon production was going into making parachutes.“Hit the Silk” was an outdated saying replaced by “Geronimo”.Or maybe “Hit the Nylons”.

Yes they do ! I like a non greasy liquid soap myself.-I would "give my regards to Broadstreet ", but that’s already taken. -Thanx for the warning !(A welding rig, air ratchet tools, big hammers and other heavy equipment is being assembled to do the needed reinforcements to my screen. Maybe a thick black curtain would work best !)-Whoa Momma !!! <-Didn’t get it cut; just tied up behind. Go a couple more years and you can look pos-a-lutely slutty ! -A little too busy ! I packed up what will likely be the last of the salsa today. Joe got a second batch. The hazard people loved it ! I painted the outside of the shed siding today. That took awhile as the panels are textured to look like weathered barn paneling. -I think I’ll be sunny for a few days. -Happy you know what.. Friday !!_____________________________________________________

Do you carry a hand santizer with you? I don’t. I never have done as I’m not all that overly fussed about germs. I still wash my hands every day of course.-Never heard of that quote before. It must be American.-I wear my hair in a ponytail when I go to bed but if I have a big plait in for whatever reason, I keep that in overnight so my hair isn’t all over my face.-I’m not changing my avatar for another 2 weeks. Have you only just done all that work on reinforcing your screen now? Well… Best to be prepared I guess. LOL. That part really made me laugh.-I don’t intend to look slutty. Not on purpose anyway.-Glad to hear that! You must be famous in your area for making salsas. Has anybody asked for your autograph yet?-I almost forgot it was Finally Friday. May you have a delightful one!

@BevThere was also leg makeup or liquid hose to give one’s legs the appearance of wearing stockings. – No need for a garter belt ;-)

Before Buggerlugs can go into shock, please allow me: MOST if not all of those creators (and the creators of comic strips world wide, past and present) praise “Pogo” just this side of idolatry (to paraphrase Ben Jonson re: Shakespeare). It might be an interesting idea, though, for the Cappers to list let’s say their bottom five of current comics? The problem is, there are so MANY bad comics to choose from! My morning paper currently has its weakest lineup of comics in my reading life (and I was reading “Andy Capp” before I was five, and I’m currently 40). All the old war horses are OLD and not fit for war, and most new ones are nothing to write (or draw) home about.

I think I can safely say that the vast majority of comic lovers would disagree with your assessment of Pogo.

@BevI thought the reason for the WWII stocking shortage would be of more interest than just how we coped with it.

Speaking of WWII shortages, beef was rationed but beef hearts were not. They made excellent beef stew or chili. Now, I guess they all go into weiners. You could buy rabbit fryers at the grocers. Tastes like chicken really. All white meat and smaller bones.
