No Spitting?! Sheesh, what kind of kids are you raising, Connie? Well, at least this time she’s actually telling them to behave…

Why’s the money green? If this is a Canadian strip, shouldn’t it be rainbow-like?

Elly, why don’t you just tell Annie how you feel about this whole driving “experience…” ;)

And this is why Elly should change her schedule by leaving a few minutes early one day, a half hour early the next, just enough to keep Annie off guard.Or be subtle and cover the back seat with a painters drop cloth.

Many years ago when my children were little I had a very dear friend. Sadly, her children were really undisciplined. When they came to visit in my home or if I travelled in my car with them I stipulated the standard of behaviour I expected. I told them that in my house and in my car that sort of behaviour was not allowed. I used a very firm voice and I never had any trouble with them. The mother didn’t seem to mind; sometimes my own children would try the same bad behaviour. One look from me was all they needed. I have grandchildren now and they are well-behaved and polite.

This could really impair a good friendship.

I think it is rude of Connie to ASSUME she can hitch a ride every day without asking and arranging it first. How does she get home? I think Elly should tell her it’s 50.00 a week 10. for gas and 40. to have the car cleaned. Maybe the bus won’t be such a bad deal after all.

BarBaraPrz: Back then, Canadians would complain that all US money looks alike. I would point out that you have to read them. “I don’t want to have to read them, I want to be able to just look at them and know.” They did have a point, especially for those with poor eyesight.

Like Elly’s kids are so much better behaved than Annie’s are. NOT!

The Connie-haters are out in force. News flash: that is Ann in the car with Elly. Connie moved away to Thunder Bay.

Why do so many mothers not recognize when their children act like feral animals? Do they think everything the little darling does is wonderful? or are they simply blind to the needs of others …

Candians used to have green $2 bills until the Toonie came along. The $20 were also green but I doubt that Annie would have even considered giving that much for gas.

In Canada the 20 dollar bills are green. Maybe Connie is realizing how much it’s going to cost her to get people to like her kids.

Ellie what’s wrong with you? Those kids spilled liquid all over your car last time. Get a backbone and say no. Say it a few times and you will enjoy it. Like the Zombies sang tell her no.

Elly is such a ‘door mat’. This situation would be funny if the comic weren’t based on the life of a real family.

I miss living in Canada, I could tell how much money I had without actually taking the bills out of my wallet.

I can remember friends of my X who never disciplined their kids (and they dropped in for dinner as often as possible on weekends with the kids and all) and my X welcomed them in spite of our having just the number of steaks for our INVITED family, but I had to make the meal magically enough for another 5-7 persons.

I’m glad those times are gone. (I had many other issues with those people over the years). And my X died the same year as my dad (and my kids did not understand that I was actually just relieved from that). Families can be complicated.
