Normally I would not believe a cop would stand ready that way without giving his/her presence noticed … but certain news tell differently ofc.

They wouldn’t stand in front of the door because if Baldo WAS an armed criminal he might just start shooting through the door. He’d have his gun in his hand (I suspect) and be crouched in a firing position off to one side then yell OPEN UP! POLICE!
