If she keeps all those cats she saves, then she won’t have to worry about finding stray ones, once she decides to parlay it into a “Cat Lady” gig! And here’s some handy tools once she does! – You wanna take Oprah’s place, huh? Better not let Oprah hear you say that!!! She’ll have you jumping on couches and all. And she knows people… She’s got a whole “network” of ’em….

I would hate to see some little girl in that school wanting to grow up to be Tiffany.

By the time you get your Degree, Luann, you will probably work at a career that doesn’t even exist now.

My Stepfather passed away a few years ago, in his 90’s. When he came back to the US after his service in World War II, he wasn’t sure what he wanted to do career-wise, so his father (who owned a printing company), suggested that he join in running that company.-And that’s what he did for a living, for the rest of his life till retirement. The whole time, though, he kept telling us he was doing it until he figured out what he really wanted to do….

I actually think this is a good way to end this arc. Luann reminds the kids that they can be anything they want and also that they don’t have to decide at age 8 or whatever extra-young age our school systems seem to be pushing right now.

This is officially one of my favorite strips. Is anyone touched when the little girl with glasses told Luann she wanted to be her. And I love it how Luann was encouraging in the second panel. She is so good with kids and she should grow up as something that involves both kids and drama. A drama teacher?

I can see what looks like braces, too. But I don’t see anything that looks like chicken pox on any of the other girls

I hope that next week’s strip is about Brad and toni. I haven’t seen them in a long time. Or I hope its with Gunther’s mom and Mr. Grey….

Well, I’d better get some sleep. Have to go for a bunch of blood work tomorrow to see whether I’m going to lose $25 out of each future paycheck because my blood glucose isn’t at the level that my new health insurance policy demands….

2013/10/27 shows that at least Tiff had many teachers on lat year of HS, and all were male. I am sure Luann also had many teachers, but some might had been female

I wanna be a billionaire brat raised in a billionaire family and never work a day in my life. (snerk)No, in fact I wanna be an astronaut. I wanted to be a fighter pilot but they are being replaced by drones. And during weekend I’ll go and save the gorillas. And I want to be a paleonthologist, and an anthropologist, and I want to be the first woman on Mars. Ok, I still don’t know what I want to be and I am 50. I think I have a problem.

Yet Tiffany wants to be an actress, works in theatre, makes her way into a movie, actually is a model in a big campaign (yes stock photos count) and all Luann could do was rag on her. Yet now we’re supposed to go “Oh she’s such a model for these children for encouraging them to do what they want even though she couldn’t do the same for people her own age.”

Oy! Most of the kids have high ambitions, more or less, but the little girl with glasses {the “young Bernice”} wants to be Luann?! Not much of a choice, unless she means to star in a comic strip. Luann is indecisive, boy-centered, and modest in accomplishments….

I think that this is just a rest stop. We’re about due to return to Bernice and the roommate who has been a no show for about 4 months. Toni & Brad are also long overdue, but they’re really pretty dull. Knute and Crystal are fun, but no story involving them runs more than a week or so, Too soon for Gunther & Rosa as they prepare to enter “The Heart of Darkness.” To paraphrase Luann, " it could be anything…" Whatever, Greg’s drawing is worth looking at. It is clean and simple and visually pleasing.
