I was at pro game on Sunday and a few guys in front of me were filming/snapping throughout the game, and ended up leaving at the end of the 3rd qtr of a close game.
Remember Bartman? He was so focused on the 7 second delayed radio broadcast, he had no idea what was actually going on right in front of him, until the last minute, when he got in the way of a foul ball that was catchable.
I am so old, and old-fashioned. I share Boston Red Sox season tickets as part of a group. The friend with whom I go to most of our games always keeps score as a way to ensure that he pays attention to the game. One of his pet peeves is people talking on cell phones throughout the game; “Yeah, I’m at the game. The score and the inning? Let me check.” One of mine is the folks who wave to their cell-phone buddy on the other side of the stadium thinking they will be visible in a crowd of 34,000 people. Neither of us has a smart phone, so no temptation to take selfies. My friend has a DVR, and records the games he doesn’t attend so he can watch them the next day when he can stay awake long enough. I have no DVR, but do not care if I fall asleep during the broadcast and miss some of it.

My son recorded a game he attended, and the fan cam focused on him once. He was recording on the WRONG CHANNEL!

The blonde is right. Remember when people went to stadiums and arenas to watch games? Seems quaint now.

Anybody who spends the dough for a pro sports event only to take pictures of themselves is both narcissistic and rich.
