Nicely done…..being used as a cushion should make Gruesome more manageable I’m thinking.

    Good morning guys!

Fire seems to have put itself out! Just as well since the fire department hasn’t shown up yet.

Gruesome’s comment might not be too far from the truth, methinks.

And Gruesome is still alive to break out of jail in a few years, for another great story! Way to go, Team Tracy! Keep them alive to fight another day.

    Well Bless his Heart !

Just about when I’d thought Diet - had no further useful role in the strip, he’s proved me WRONG !

Good thing he not only (thoughtfully), inserted that “vital signs” technology in the Wrist Wizard - (when Tracy left it off - for a ‘check-up’), but seems he quietly slipped in an (automatic?) “Anti-Gravity” Unit ?.

    GREAT ! Saved their lives ! - in that 25 foot FALL ! ?

And there they are now, casual conversation as if they’d had a struggle, and just fallen off the side a bed onto the floor (?) I’m guessing that by tomorrow, we’ll see them ‘get up’, run a comb through the hair, then casually walk away as if they’d just stepped out of a parked car ?

Some smile as they observe, “ONLY, in the Comics” ! ? And last March (30th), we were told - “everyone in the City was reading Vera Alldid’s new comic strip” - J Straightedge Trustworthy,

But this is Dick Tracy ?Only thing to be concerned about here today - IS . . . will he find his Hat ?

    Morning, Tracyville!

If Gruesome landed on the bottom, he could have severe injuries. I’m thinking broken ribs at least and maybe internal bleeding as well.

Good Lord SOMEONE stop the presses! Dick Tracy and the MCU/S have actually APPREHENDED TWO CRIMINALS IN ONE STORY!!! without relying on outside sources to do it for them!

I can now die a happy man.. Tracy actually followed a case thru to the end and walks away with TWO arrests! I’d be impressed.. but as someone pointed out to me the other day when i was “backtracking” the last few stories, the ONLY clean arrest Tracy has made in YEARS was The Jumbler! (not including broadway bates here cuz he had help from cinnamon knight and black pirahana and belle)

Boris Karloff gets props from Team Tracy on multiple levels: Arsenic and Old Lace, Gruesome, his daughter, Sara, and the famous windmill scene from the Frankenstein film. Tracy is victorious without shooting an unarmed man. A formidable foe falls. Vitamin gets a new sweetheart and we get a Kandikane. Interesting characters pop up to foreshadow coming attractions and keep Tracyville a captivating place: Kadaver, Rikki, Silver, Sprocket and Agate Aggie. Apollo was introduced. BB Eyes coerced Blaze Rize to join up with the Blackhearts. Plenty to enjoy in another fine tale from Team Tracy. Cheers!

Gruesome may be injured, but he still has his sense of humor! At least Tracy made his collar (unless there is a last-minute slip-up cuffing and stuffing Gruesome into a patrol car). Barring those slip-ups, this sub-arc is roughly closed, though with many a dangling thread: what has become of the people back at Patterson Playhouse (or what’s left of it)? Where are the Sprockets? (I won’t even worry about Kadaver, Mortis, and the conspicuous Death Coach….)

For a Tracy fan like myself, who first came on board during the iconic Gould years of the 40s and 50s, this scene is very reminiscent of the capture of Empty Williams, who fought it out with Tracy in an old tree house in a rotting tree on the edge of an industrial district. The who tree came down, and the tree house broke apart, and Tracy came out on top. Empty didn’t fare so well; he was speared through with a jagged board from the tree house. Gruesome seems to have fared better, unless davidf42 in right, and he has internal injuries.

…..oh, to whoever said they couldn’t shoot Gruesome because he wasn’t armed; didn’t he take away Sam’s gun? And regardless, after he was travelling in a car with another con, would you actually want to GUESS whether he was armed or not, anyways?
