Well? What did you expect the airlines to do with the leftovers, pitch them out the window?

The better questions is, how can first class have enough leftovers to feed the rest of the plane?

I know that this is just a comic strip, exaggeration is par for the course. Having flown since I’m 4 years old in economy class, I can attest that it isn’t THAT bad…lol Just this December, flying to Paris from Montreal, I got a pretty good dinner on Air France.

I signed up just to say how much I love Wiley’s drawings. He has a perfect perspective on life, and angles. His strip is the first I look at, and it always hits the mark!

Leftovers from first class would be much better than the last airplane meal I ate – and I can’t remember how long ago that was.

In the early 70s I used to fly from Omaha to Denver to Phoenix for college. I’d take the afternoon / early evening flights AND get a very nice STEAK dinner, WITH wine, on BOTH flights!!!! This was on old Frontier Airlines…. Same thing on Phoenix to Denver to Omaha!!…. oh the good old days

The last time we flew anywhere, we picked up food at a sandwich counter in the airport and just bought something to drink on the plane. Since it was a 4-hour flight, we picked up some yogurt and fruit and a sandwich for lunch.

On Southwest Airlines they give you a little package of peanuts that has a warning on it that the contents were produced in a factory that produces peanuts.

Haven’t flown in 7 years but anyone with half a brain knows that flying coach today is inarguably synonymous with TORTURE. The airlines have and will continue to, NO doubt, purposely create an environment of deprivation, EXCRUCIATING claustrophobia, pressure, absolute unaffordability and purposeful antagonism. They have also deliberately DESTROYED ANY passenger comfort or comfort in coach COMPLETELY.

So, what’s the significance of the bird in the aisle? “Bizarro” artist Dan Piraro puts birds, pies, etc. in his comics. Wiley?

The last flight I was on, I was allowed to take aboard an unfinished Burger King Meal, and those on board who had to order airline food complained that I got to bring a bag lunch. The Burger King Lunch was gourmet compared to what others received and even the aroma was far more appetizing.

On short domestic flights, I have been lucky to get a bag of nuts and a half-glass of Coke. But flying steerage on Virgin, from L.A. to London, we were all fed quite nicely, not too bad.

I didn’t get anything that good on Frontier.1 SMALL pack of pretzels, can’t serve peanuts because SOME people are allergic.Well pretzels are too salty and raise blood pressure in a LOT of folks.I addressed this to management (well their web site anyway). Did I get a reply, well it has only been 6 years maybe they will answer tomorrow.

Damn, it’s been a loong time since I flew. The last time I flew from O’Hare to LAX I was served a nice dinner. Then again my flight from Chicago to Traverse City, Mi cost $25 for a round trip. When I was TDY-temporary duty-in Chicago for 2 months, I flew up to TC every weekend to visit my folks, that would have been about 1973

Only flight where I was actually served dinner was my nonstop JFK-Vienna about ten years ago. By the time the stewardess got to me, she said, “Sir, I’m sorry, we’re all out of chicken; will the shrimp do?” And I’m thinking, “Hell, yeah, the shrimp will do! It ain’t lobster — but it ain’t chicken!” IIRC, my actual response was a more civilized, “Yes, thank you.”

Love the chicken (hen) roaming the aisle. It must have escaped from economy class. They’re the ones that have to bring their own food.
