I always enjoyed doing those sorts of things. Once the adults had successfully “fooled” me into doing something, they generally left me alone until I had finished. And within reason, I was in control of that amount of time.As far as a decent cuppa joe, Burl wouldn’t know one if by some vanishing chance someone made it for him.
My late and un-lamented would have asked that question about the vacuum, and then followed me around telling me I was doing it all wrong. If I told him to do it himself, he’d back up, swearing he didn’t know how the machine worked. It really is a wonder he died a natural death.
