Why would she wean her for the bottle? Why not wait until she is ready for solids?
Kristen Ehrenberger about 9 years ago
Even if Lucy takes solids, she still needs to drink something.

My two went from Mum to cup when they were ready. Neither of them ever had a bottle. I did buy a bottle first time round, just in case – but it was refused!
Babies know what’s best for them.

After her Val!

No need to wean her to a bottle. When she is done breastfeeding she can drink out of a sippy cup.

I tired when my first one on nursing did not work out on bottle, then older loved the sippy cup.

She never said that the bottle was formula, first. I had a bottle every night because my pediatrician had nearly lost a little patient when Momma got sick and couldn’t nurse. So, night-owl, grad-student Dad did the 2 AM feeding while Mom slept, except for the several times she’d heard the cries turn to Dad’s voice and (later) coos, so I have photos. It just meant that she wasn’t present at every single one of my feedings, and they actually had the resources for her to be home while Dad was in school. Being with the baby every day from birth until he or she is old enough for a sippy cup is an upper-class luxury
