There’s a lawyer glut— don’t want that, either. Medical is where it’s at, with all the boomers aging out and everyone being able to actually get healthcare (someday). I’ve been telling my 10-yo grandniece that: I have no kids of my own, and I need someone to change my diapers in 30 years!

The lawyer went back to his home town ten years after passing the bar, and while there saw his old sweetheart, whom he jilted soon after entering practice. She had a child in tow, and the lawyer realized the boy looked like him at that age. He did the math and realized it was his child. “Why didn’t you tell me?” he asked. “I’d have done the right thing and married you.” “I know,” she replied. “But after discussing it with my folks, we decided we’d rather have a b*tard in the family than a lawyer.”
