There are certain medical situations where measles in a child can be dangerous. There are certain medical conditions in which vaccination for measles can be dangerous.

I do not believe there are any medical studies comparing the risk.

Doctors will normally take the safe path of following the crowds because of fear of law suits, public perceptions, pier pressure.

That is real life.

I hate pier pressure. I always “docked.”

It’s more a matter of peer-review than “pier pressure”. Big difference.

I have never been convinced of the necessity of measles vaccination. The percentages of serious outcomes are TINY. I do agree with the necessity of the other vaccinations— DPT, tetanus, polio, small pox in its time. But it’s law here in Calif, I let myself be shot up, had my kids done. One less problem to worry about,at very small cost.
