Is this based on a recent news event I haven’t heard about yet, or is just being silly?

eligions don’t promote eating certian foods, they ban eating certain foods, but only because they are offal.

Ted, you’ve done it again. This is absolutely spot on. We need to call out the Islamic idiots, not fall into their insane narrative. They need to understand that they do not get to dictate to others what to say or believe. This needs to be widespread enough so there’s strength in numbers, not in armament. Islam should be called to account, loudly, publicly, and relentlessly. Not in vitriol and hate. Not in war. Not with torture and invasion. Not with drones. With words. Strong words. Clear and unambiguous words. I really don’t care about the Islamic women. Wear what you like when in a Muslim country. I don’t really care about their invincible ignorance. Let them fight each other to the death, if they want. BFD. We need to butt out and let these idiots deal with it. They, their parents, their brothers and sisters, their cousins, their entire ummah, needs to say NO! It does no good when they do this half-hearted “Well, we don’t condone the violence, but we understand it. After all, they are the infidels. We are right. We and only we know the truth.” “Mainstream Muslims” are less vocal than the shrilled members of their faith but often just as monomaniacal in their sympathy for their idiots. Thanks Ted.

Nope. Don’t know where you’d get that impression. As to the Jews, two of my partners are Jewish. I am a big believer in the Jewish culture. Family. Taking care of your kids. Hard word. Articulate and thoughtful. Respectful of science. Revere education. Israel is another issue. I am not a big supporter of the Israel myth. The Arabs, backwards as they tend to be, deserve better from Israel. I know, I know the Jews and the Holocaust. Evil, nasty stuff. But the Israel government is complicit in its own stuff. Big time. They’re also in a demographic trap. Are they “better” than the idiot Muslims, well, mostly. Not all Jews sympathize with Likud, you know. The Jerusalem Post regularly presents opposing viewpoints from Israelis who think there’s a better way. As to the stupid stuff conservative Jews believe. Well, let’s just say their silly stuff is just like any of the other religious conservatives anywhere with any set of conservative religious beliefs.

Not hard “word” hard “work”. I need to proof better and not type so fast.

If religions, and their followers would first follow the guidance of good medicine:“First,do no harm”, they might foster more cooperation and respect with, and for, each other?

You hold your belief based on faith without evidence. You have have the same chance of being right or wrong as the other guy.

Odd coincidence. This weekend my wife and I went to Busch Gardens in Tampa, FL and one of the larger primates was pooping in his hand and about 3 minutes later he was eating it. Took it’s sweet time…

That’s funny… he doesn’t LOOK Pooish.
