Mr. Green (or Goldbug, as Nick knows him) wanted to get the team back together, presumably on his term. He used his minion to engineer Tigerlily’s escape to draw the team together and presumably sent Dr. Nan Darling to this second place for some reason. Now he has hacked Nick.I’m guessing that the drone (which Dr. Lee thought was clean) may have had some sort of backdoor that allowed Mr. Green to keep track of its activity and take control of things once Nick tried to jack into it. This may have been his reason for setting things in motion. With his machine for seeing possible futures, he could have known that Sweetheart would use the drone to try and infiltrate the institute. Then he just had to make things difficult enough for the pooch and know that Nick would try to port into the drone and be trapped.Fascinating…
