On way more than this, they ARE more dangerous to our welfare and freedom than ISIL. This bull will constantly be at the trough, drinking us dry, for all those they owe debt to.

I agree with your first paragraph. If you’ve ever seen any of my other comments, you’ll recognize that that’s a remarkable event, but in this, we are in agreement. I think it’s inappropriate to compare the Republican Party directly to ISIL.

@Clark Kent – The Right is certainly not looking to take away your rights – They are trying to make sure your rights are enforced.

As for your protections – It seems to me that I need protection from you who has decided that Government enforced Looting of savings is appropriate for anyone who saves beyond your chosen threshold.

And let’s be clear about Obama’s approach. I don’t think anyone objects to him choosing who gets deported first and I certainly agree that he should focus on the most dangerous of the immigrants. Where I and many Republicans don’t agree with Mr. Obama is what should be done with those that aren’t being immediately deported. He thinks they should be welcomed with open arms, given drivers licenses, food stamps, welfare, and a place in society. Many of us would have accepted that the immigrants that remain were just ignored until the INS gets around to them but we can’t accept that they be given Quasi-citizenship. He’s not an Emperor – He was sworn to uphold the constitution and to enforce all laws; not just the ones that are convenient for his legacy and party.

@SizeofPea – Those “rights” to which you refer are not actually rights. You feel entitled to them but there are those who would argue you shouldn’t have them. Not Me by the way. I think we should have a right to privacy and I think women should have the right to seek abortions without interference from the state. I’m not so supportive of the ERA because it always seems to get turned into how we can give women favored treatment and not equal treatment (But that’s just me).

As to the free speech issue – I agree with the Supreme Court; The State created impediments to certain groups that wanted to use their own money to reach a broader audience – The Supreme Court prevented the state from trodding of the rights of people other then you. Giving someone the right to have their own say in no way deprives you of your right to speak. Are you sure you don’t dislike that decision because it gives someone with an opinion different from your own the right to express and advocate for their ideas?

@SizeofPea – I wouldn’t categorize my response to Clark Kent as a ‘rant’ but you are certainly entitled to your opinion. I thought I was laying out why many Republicans are disinclined to support Mr. Obama on his approach to immigration. If he had only focused his attention on the most incorrigible immigrants like his predecessor – nobody would have objected. But he decided that he also wanted to give them additional rights (which is NOT within his executive control). Worse yet – He wanted to give them those rights and benefits at the expense of the States most abused by these illegals.

That being said – I fail to see how I am part of the problem. It doesn’t matter whether they are Children, Mothers, Fathers or Singles – Incarcerate them. If they don’t like the conditions to which they are kept – Allow them to leave and return to their country until their court hearing comes up. You offer the false dichotomy that if we don’t give the issue more money – the children will suffer. I see many other solutions to that problem (So with your shortsightedness it looks like YOU are part of the problem). But don’t worry – I won’t deny you have any right to speak about the subject; unlike some people we know :)

@SizeofPea – As for these illegals working for employers that are employing them illegally. I know you will find this hard to believe; but I am all in favor of fining and jailing employers that knowingly hired illegal workers.

If we prosecuted the people who hire them we could make the US look sufficiently inhospitable to illegal immigrants and they would leave of their own accord. With that -many of the other social problems associated with illegal immigrants disappear.
