Can’t figure out why everybody at the table seems so offended by his remark…(that is both the trouble and the beauty of a strip this old…)
I was thinking this comic took place during the great depression, so butter might have been a luxury item not to be wasted. But then I see the comic is dated 1926, which means this took place two years before the depression began. Still, things might have been tight and butter is a commodity not to be wated.
