Well she’s ahead by one in the first panel, increases it to four in the second, maintains it at four in the third, and though we don’t see it say lap she’s lapping in the fourth increasing it to five. So that means Charlie Brown has at least three unseen laps prior to the first panel as Lucy has ten we can see to Charlie Browns five we can see. And who knows exactly how many unseen laps they both have.
And here we’ve reached the earliest Peanuts cartoon I’d previously read. This was part of a paperback collection that I, er, borrowed from my Dad back in the seventies. :)
