Rather apt, RobbyC–as he’s trying to show how lame Alex’s presentation is by presenting it just as lamely!

Gweedo: no, the music videos haven’t improved. Those days are long gone.

Hasn’t been a really first-rate music video, IMHO, since Talking Heads did their FIRST version of “Once In A Lifetime.” Concert videos? Feh.

couple of years ago, I read about a Czech film maker who did an entire movie on a cell phone. At the first (and maybe the only) showing, people bailed out of the theater nauseous because of the jerkiness and erratic movement of the images on the screen. Similar to motion sickness.

What gets me is how Alex can be this divorced from reality. Alex has more of her mother in her than either Mike or Alex wants to acknowledge.

Now, if she’s a really fine teacher, she will inspire Alex to go back and do some truly in-depth interviews and studies, write them up as a biography of Lacey Davenport, her life and times, polish it up, and submit it to publishers.

Nope, I don’t see that happening, just wishful thinking on my part.

Alec is a computer geek. Always has been - that’s why she and Kim got along so well. When computer geeks try and branch out to other areas of creative life, it seldom ends well.

I had the same experience with the “Blair Witch Project.” I had to leave the theatre to put my head between my knees for a while due to extreme motion sickness from the jerky camera work, and while I was there, one of the ushers stopped by to thank me for leaving before I was sick - since apparently they had been cleaning up barf at just about every showing since the movie (and I use that term loosely) opened.

Maybe this is leading to Alex having to reconcile with her mother and get some help with that “artistic vision” thing.

Of course, I seem to recall some of J.J.’s work being pretty vile, so maybe Alex is more like her mother than she’d admit.

plus4 says: P.S.: I personally think the music video is the single most useless art form ever.

In part, you can blame Mike Nesmith for this, as the concept of a video clip he created for his song “Rio” led to the creation of MTV.

baslim, you’re still upset about the painted toilet performance art installation in the night club, aren’t you?

ANandy, your syntax is confusing. I suggest you add a subject, and reverse the order of your predicate and modifier, to read, “That word describes this strip rather well.” Your hypothesis would still be questionable, but at least your sentence structure would be correct.

    JonD17 and ewennick:

After the Blair Witch tossed my cookies, I knew to bail out at the first sign during Cloverfield.

    It was ShakyCamTastic!
