I’ve long said that the media should never repeat the name of the shooter — to deny them the recognition they crave so much — but instead they could go with “the asshole who shot Kendrick Castillo” (or “Trayvon Martin” or “Philandro Castile” or “the poor kids at Parkland”) and put the emphasis where it belongs: on the heroes and victims.
