Back when we canned our own, I don’t recall expiration dates. Anyone remember getting sick from Mom’s beans?

As Calvin says, I don’t trust anything that prints the date you might expire.

I wish I still had some of my mom’s home canned dills–no matter how old.

We also got some bargain cans that had lost their labels. We soon learned that it was better to open that can first and then plan the rest of the meal… .

Heck! The expiration date is not as important as the quality of the ingredients, and a product without food additives or preservatives.

No one would ever mark things down because they’re past date, that’s against federal law.

I knew a guy who had a whole pantry full of unlabeled cans. He got them cheap so that’s all he got. Every night he would open three random cans and whatever was in them was dinner.
