This is like an old joke:

Tom: “I think that everything’s rotten.”

Sally: “You should try to be more positive!”

Tom: “Okay, I’m positive that everything’s rotten.”

Confidence has a specific meaning for statistics. Pig’s got a point there.

They said “Cheer up, things could be worse.” So I cheered up. Sure enough, things got worse!

Depressed writer is depressed #…forget it, I’ve lost count.

Is this some kind of reverse psychology Pig is attempting?

Things WILL get better…..we just don’t know when. Persevere and don’t lose heart, folks.

There are only happy surprises for the pessimist. Or no surprises at all.

Pig has a positive attitude, he’s positive things will get worse!

The amount of “positivity” Pig is radiating, I’m sure he’d test positive for Covid-19 too, if they checked! :D

This whole year has been a sea of change….Just keep rolling with it ! …. Croc Power !

He’s confusing feeling confident with feeling certain.

Things will improve, someday. If at all.

It is true i do appreciate small things more, and realize that other semmingly important things were just a waste of hurried nonsense. Those will stay in my past regardless

Don’t dwell on the bad, but do keep busy and sing…..don’t worry, be happy!

You just have to keep on keeping on. Go by that old saying. The main thing is to maintain.

Ah, Pig the pessimist.

Everything has been going wrong in the pandemic though. Except for Biden getting elected. That was good.

Perception as reality.

I am reminded of the 1964 election. JFK had been assassinated the year before and Lyndon Johnson was still riding on his popularity. The Republicans were running a warmonger named Barry Goldwater. In 1965 this joke was making the rounds:

“I was told that if I voted for Goldwater we would be at war in six months. Well I did and we are.”

Just like a Kidney Stone, this too shall pass.

I’ll buy into that philosophy when pigs are profound, Pig….

There was a large basket for a while where I worked. It contained many small slips of paper with inspirational messages. We were told to read one each day and do what it said. One day I got “Help 2 people to be optimistic today.” So I told them, “Cheer up! Things are bound to get better!”

I didn’t lose confidence because I didn’t have any before.
