Republicans still afraid of Trump allow him way too much power. They’re afraid of his base, but forget that base is only about 30% of Republican voters and is dwindling. A lot of 2020’s Trump voters only voted for Trump because he was the Republican candidate – substitute somebody else as the Republican candidate and they’ll automatically vote for him. So all these Republicans who coddle Trump are doing is embarrassing themselves in front of the public.
