The domestic seems to be the much greater threat…

As awful as this all is… and it IS awful, it’s kind of nice that they are working in relative comfort. Of course, they’ve got to be wondering how they’ll do if it actually comes down to force of arms against fellow citizens.

We have met the enemy and they are Republicans.

That’s what the oath we took was. Some tend to overlook the domestic part.

All this because our warring obstructionist political parties have made the government of the people, by the people, and for the people mostly dysfunctional allowing crackpots and cranks to spread conspiracy theories, and racists/nationalist/authoritarians the opportunity to overturn our constitutional quasi-democratic republic … asserting that only they can fix things. What is so wrong about Congress working together to serve the public that lies and division have become the primary tools of politicians?

Hopefully we won’t see Naval Gunboats on the Potomac River…

One of the saddest things I’ve ever witnessed in America – and all it took was one Putin wanna-be, supported by a pathetic gang of republican’ts and evangelicals. It’s incredible to think we have fallen so far so fast.

I’m more worried what trump has up his sleeve for his last order as FAKE president….after meeting with that idiot pillow guy encouraging him to declare marshal law , etc…..god help us all!

They shoot Pence, Pelosi, a few of the squad for good measure, then Trump calls martial law, claims the count never happened so Biden cannot be inaugurated, bye bye democracy.

If that cop, Eugene Goodman hadn’t led the mob a different direction, they would have entered the senate when they all were in there. The end of democracy was that close.

Mostly really stupid armed domestic hot headed republican liars who refuse to believe that the American people rejected their fascist racist dictator Benedict Arnold Trump the seditious. Sorry, you cannot have your dictatorship.

I know. I worry about them – both their physical well-being AND their mental/emotional wellbeing. I worry about the police who had insurgents screaming in their faces w/o masks on. I worry about Officer Hodge and his fellow Capitol police who were so viciously attacked by the insurgents. One of them was beaten with a American thin blue flag on a pole. Trump and his republican sycophantic gov’t officials need to be shunned – like the old days. Ignored. No one speaks to them, listens to them, acknowledges they are there. Make them invisible.

These are the times that try men’s souls.

Not sure having 20,000 soldiers with guns as an audience at the inauguration is a good thing either.. Best we hope there are not rogue soldiers in that group that would take it on themselves to right the wrong. And.. statistically there will be, some trump supporters.

The Washington DC of today looks a lot like the Military District of Washington DC in 1863, but it smells better, has paved streets, and the uniforms are different.

They’d probably house them elsewhere—if it wasn’t for the Third Amendment…

We got an email from a friend in Switzerland asking where were the quartermasters to supply the National Guard? In the Swiss army one always had at least a comfortable sleeping bag…

The threat on the web-sites calls for action on January 17. The Monday is MLK day, so the Lord knows what these racists will do then!

Well, Junior, what’s especially unsettling to us civilians is knowing that some of those enemies came from within your own ranks. Law enforcement and the military are excellent breeding grounds for enemy combatants.

Give those young men defending America some damn blankets. Go take ’em from Trump if necessary. Let his fat behind go cold to match his cold, evil heart.

A Capitol policeman was killed, another was caught on film being crushed by the treasonous mob and seen screaming for his life. Other film caught officers being bombarded with fire extinguishers by the rioting mob, another officer dragged to the ground and beat with metal pipes and of all things the American flag. Other officers gave interviews where they said they were pepper sprayed and could hear the mob saying kill them with their own guns. My question is, where in the hell are all those so-called Blue Lives Matter people? They would come out at the drop of a hat when any black person dared to speak out about police violence against them, but here you have real, actual filmed violence against police forces and I hear not one damn thing from them. Seems they only care and make grand statements when it relates to people of color, not when other whites commit violence on the police.

The taking of any life should never become automatic. This Is exactly the kind of thinking that has us at odds with each other already; the problem of bigotry – of racism, Intolerance, sexism and every form of narrow-mindidness there is. Pray, instead, that you never have to bear the burden of terminating another life. Our soul has no color or sexual orientation. When blood is shed, all blood is red.

Thanks to Trump… part of his legacy…

He says it right there; against all enemies foreign and domestic. Pretty clear to me.
