Biden seems to have — finally — been the Democrat who figure out that “bipartisan” with the GQP is just giving in. Maybe, someday, if we click our heels together three times, one or two of the GQP might actually try a compromise. Nah, I’m just a cockeyed optimist for even thinking it’s possible.
Joe has read the will of the people — including Republicans out in the real world. It is THAT bipartisanship that he is rightly pursuing. The GQP monstrosities in Congress do not represent the people but their corporate sponsors. Joe Manchin seems to represent only himself.
Anyone else notice that even though the Qpublicans have been screaming “NO!! NO!!!” to the Infrastructure bill, that President Biden is STILL willing to try to sit down and talk with them, unlike Agolf Twitler who was ABSOLUTELY CONVINCED that HE was SO MUCH SMARTER then EVERYONE ELSE, and that he could get WHATEVER HE WANTED by just saying that he wanted it?
THIS is the difference between a PRESIDENT and a Wanna-be Dictator!!!
Oh, and by the way… if anyone needed MORE proof that the Qpublicans are the world’s BIGGEST Hypocrites, just check this out… notice the dates on Agolf Twitler’s rants… EXACTLY one year apart…
Chuck Schumer has said that he wants Republican input, because they are dedicated to finding flaws in any ideas the Democrats have. Finding valid flaws prior to a bill being passed saves finding out that they exist by having them cause problems after it is in effect. The Republicans, however, want the Democrats to fail more than they want the country to succeed.
Some of the GOP’s favorite people are being removed from the country.
US imposes sanctions on Moscow, expels Russian diplomats
US President Joe Biden imposed sanctions on President Vladimir Putin’s Russia
Washington (AFP) – The United States announced sanctions and the expulsion of 10 Russian diplomats Thursday in retaliation for what Washington says is the Kremlin’s US election interference, a massive cyber attack and other hostile activity.
That looks like a Labrador, so he will be the ONE reasonable negotiator among the congressional delegation. Given that it’s a yellow Lab, it will be a little hyper. Over the past 40 years of inbreeding, yellow Labradors are on the hyper end of the scale, especially the boys.
Russian intelligence agent linked to Trump campaign among Kremlin figures sanctioned by Biden
Treasury officials allege Konstantin Kilimnik passed ‘sensitive information’ from Trump campaign to Russian intelligence services
A Russian intelligence agent accused of attempting to undermine US election integrity and sow disinformation was among Kremlin-linked figures targeted in Russian sanctions announced on Thursday.
Federal authorities alleged that Konstantin Kilimnik “provided the Russian Intelligence Services with sensitive information on polling and campaign strategy” for former president Donald Trump in 2016.
The allegations connect to findings from Robert Mueller’s investigation and congressional investigations that assessed Mr Kilimnik was fed information by former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort.
Following a 2018 indictment, the FBI has offered a reward of up to $250,000 for information leading to the arrest on charges of “obstruction of justice and engaging in a conspiracy to obstruct justice” related to unregistered lobbying work as a foreign agent in the US.
A recent report from US intelligence officials also assessed that Kremlin-backed figures associated with Mr Trump’s attorney Rudy Giuliani “met with and provided materials" to Trump officials to pursue formal investigations into then-candidate Joe Biden, hired a firm to petition US officials, and “attempted to make contact with several senior US officials” and established media figures during the lead up to the 2020 election.
Ted Cruz among six Republicans to vote down bill to end anti-Asian hate crimes
Ted Cruz was among six Republicans who voted against a bill on Wednesday that would strengthen federal efforts to end rampant anti-Asian hate crimes in America.
An overwhelming majority of senators voted to advance the legislation directing the Justice Department to “facilitate the expedited review” of hate crimes against Asian communities.
But six Republicans — Texas senator Mr Cruz, Tom Cotton of Arkansas, Josh Hawley from Missouri, Rand Paul from Kentucky, Tommy Tuberville from Alabama, and Roger Marshall from Kansas — voted against it.
Lawmakers voted with a majority of 92 against 6 in the Senate for the COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act, bringing it a step closer to being passed, as a step forward in denouncing the sharp increase in discrimination and violence against Asians in the US amid coronavirus.
“It defines COVID-19 hate crime as a violent crime that is motivated by two things: (1) the actual or perceived characteristic (eg race) of any person, and (2) the actual or perceived relationship to the spread of COVID-19 of any person because of that characteristic,” according to the bill’s summary.
The bill was sponsored by senator Mazie Hirono, Democrat from Hawaii, and representative Grace Meng, Democrat from New York.
I see that Montana Swill is living up (or down) to his nickname once again yet again………I wonder how many people remember that when Moscow Mitch blocked any hearings about Obama’s nominee for the Supreme Court, that the nominee probably WOULD’VE been shot down by partisan politics, unless a few Republicans decided to be patriotic, after all, and at the end of the day? But, of course, Moscow Mitch couldn’t risk THAT……….
Like any extremist minded people, they don’t negotiate except for surrender of their enemy and nothing less or the refuse to vote or block if they can any legislation they don’t like.
The latest Morning Consult-Politico poll has the president at 60 percent approval with only 37 percent disapproval. He’s off the charts among Democrats (92 percent) and wins independents 52 percent to 40 percent. Sixty-three percent approve of his handling of the covid-19 pandemic (compared to 24 percent approval for congressional Republicans). Despite the actions of many GOP governors, nearly 70 percent of voters think “Americans should continue to social distance for as long as is needed to curb the spread of coronavirus even if it means continued damage to the economy.”
Republicans’ quibbling about the definition of infrastructure has largely fallen on deaf ears. Voters generally have more expansive definitions for infrastructure, which in their minds includes schools (70 percent say it’s infrastructure), child care (53 percent), manufacturing (69 percent), water pipes (78 percent), Internet (68 percent), housing (69 percent). Biden’s overall plan gets 57 percent approval, with only 24 percent disapproval. Mention an increase in corporate taxes, and support climbs to 62 percent.

Joe’s giving them a choice; follow, or get out of my way. Good choice of a bust of FDR. We are in a similar situation and need a similar response.
