    Not necessarily. Morays aren’t aggressive, unless trapped or harrassed. Almost any wild animal will fight if startled, trapped or cornered. “Even a turtledove will peck.”

    Not sure what Dziva and Boody’s issue is, but Bi-Polar Bear seems to be over-thinking the metaphor, which is probably not a Good Thing to do….

    The saying comes back from the days of early canning, when you would get a can that went bad and on opening it, would be full of worms. Or rather maggots.
