It can kill all your passions, not just food. You can become habituated and it stops working. The weight lost may rebound. The gastrointestinal side effects are very daunting. Nothing godly about any of this. Right now it is a fad drug for those without diabetes .
I let my weight creep up over the years, allowing work and other priorities to get in the way. I got up to 255 (I’m only 5’11"). I dropped 5 on my own, then asked my cardiologist about Ozempic. He said he’d gotten great results with his patients and prescribed it 2 or 3 times each week. In the two months since, I’m down 18 more. Zero side effects My insurance is covering it (because I have medical issues affected by my weight gain), so I’m paying $25 per month.
Ozempic is affecting me in two ways. One is physiological. I eat less and less frequently. But it has a psychological effect, too. I’m conscious of my eating, my goals, my exercise. I feel a sense of obligation to weight loss and improved nutrition. I’m hoping my numbers—particularly my blood pressure—improve. And I like the changing relationship to food I’m adopting as well.
But it’s no miracle drug. You can’t just eat and drink anything you want and lose weight. And if you want to keep it off, you have to make permanent changes to your habits. I still like food, but I make better choices and eat less of it. That’s a good thing every day.

I googled these and they seem to be type 2 diabetic drugs. I guess the joke is that they suppress your appetite? kind of a dumb joke, seems to me.
