It would be safe to say over a million American severely ill and dead were directly and indirectly due to the outright lies, dismantling of CDC policies, and gross incompetence of the former 45th POTUS. Too bad so many citizens of this nation have the attention span (and intelligence) of a squirrel on meth to even attempt to investigate, remember, reflect and act on this.

Anyone who thinks they were better off 4 years ago has very serious memory problems and had probably best see a neurologist. Right away.

Because the "only I can solve it " guy was totally incompetent on taking charge in the first place. It was not just going to disappear, show how manly he was by refusing to wear a mask or take precautions, have large gatherings of people in close quarters. Not that this matters to looney toons

More died under Biden, then under Trump if you went into the Hospital say for a heart bypass surgery and you had symptoms of COVID -19 your death was classified as COVID -19.

My son worked as an RN during the early weeks of Covid, putting in 60 hours weeks because of the increased patients. He contracted the disease which only lasted for a couple of weeks. However, it damaged his internal organs enough that he was unable to sit up for another 10 weeks or so and spent six months in the hospital. He came home, on home health nursing care, and extensive physical therapy, and we were glad to see him getting stronger. He had high hopes for returning to work when his body had finished recovering. He had a minor heart attack, which may or may not have been Covid related, but, in his weakened condition, it killed him. He was 56 years old. My brother was luckier. It killed him within a week.

Trump has said that no one could have foreseen Covid. Well, somebody did. The Obama administration established White House’s National Security Council Directorate for Global Health Security and Biodefense after the Ebola epidemic of 2014. They set up 40 clinics in hot spots all over the world, whose job was to monitor the local situation and immediately send for adequate help to contain any threat. One of those clinics was in the Chinese province where Covid originated.

To research this for validity look for “Playbook for Early Response to High-Consequence Emerging Infectious Disease Threats and Biological Incidents.”

The Trump White House defunded the office, as part of the budget cuts when he cut taxes. It’s impossible to assess the full impact of this 2018 decision, but it is clear that eliminating the office contributed to the federal government’s sluggish domestic response. When asked about the slow roll-out of coronavirus tests in the U.S. on March 13, President Trump responded, “I don’t take responsibility at all.” Trump is not just responsible, he likes to name things after himself, and this one is truly deserved== THE TRUMP PLAGUE.

Trump jump started the vaccine development. This cartoon is way off the mark.

The ONLY positive thing Trump did was to support the vaccine development, basically by staying out of the way and ensuring it was funded. Everything else he did was harmful, from the BS about it going away to his ultimate anti-masking stance later on. When he got it he portrayed it as nothing, rather than take the chance to convey how serious it was. His vanity was more important than people’s lives.

IMO the 400,000 in the cartoon is an estimate of how many deaths could have been prevented had he been more responsible, and thought of anyone except himself.

While I’m at it, on masking. What I said starting in roughly June of 2020 was close the bars and open the schools.

More died under Biden despite the fact that trump started the deaths, and it continues to this day. Republicans’ policies continue to cause harm for a very long time.
