Francis my man appears to be higher than a kite: surely Tess recognizes this?

Uh, I doubt it, Sisyphos, she’s probably drunk as a skunk.

All this is lost on me. I have seen Kitty Wells, Marty Robbins, Faron Young and Lefty Frizell all sing on stage. No props, dry ice, fire, explosions….just good singing, and the crowd went wild. Glad those were my years, not Tessie and Francis times……..

What was the original rap song? I would suggest “Smoke, Smoke, Smoke That Cigarette”, written by Merle Travis and recorded by Tex Williams, I think in 1948.

I’d say Tess was more of a punk rocker.

Merle Travis and Tex Williams. They don’t make em like that anymore.

Hank, Sr. (Luke the Drifter) and Jimmy Dean were able to do recitations, which didn’t include the Mother Goose type rhyming.

Mmmm I wonder if Mother Goose laid regular or golden eggs.

I haven’t followed pop music since the Beatles arrived, but I really do miss good rock videos.

(I understand the guy from “Addicted to Love” is dead and those luscious “musicians” behind him must be on Social Security by now. Time marches on.)

Wow, some of you folks must be way older than I am. Those were my older brothers’ LPs. These days I listen to my kids’ stuff. Some of it is pretty good. And it freaks them out when I tell them to play a metal song again and turn it up.

“Scuzbucket from Nantucket,” eh? I’m not familiar with the music, but I’d love to hear the lyrics.

BTW, I thought the first rap song was “They’re Coming to Take Me Away, Ha-Haa!” by Napoleon XIV.

Tess was supposed to be Joan Jett, which was Punk. Joan would punk up 50’s songs in addition to her own singles. Tess looked just like Joan, and Joan is only about 4.5 ft. tall too. Tess appeared when Joan Jett & the Blackhearts hit it big.)

Scuzbucket From Nantucket is the song, they have Steve Dallas in the video, who the song could have been written for. There’s no way this can go wrong, even with a half dozen moose, Steve will serve them well.
